“Discover the Free & Authentic Sound of your Singing Voice”
On 14th March we were uplifted by international vocal performance coach Kirsten Schötteldreier. She lead a practical workshop using her own singing method. By combining breathing and voice exercises with ancient patterns of the Shaolin Chi Kung, she opens the window into singing without restrictions or fear
Kirsten started her career as a classical singer working internationally. In search of more than just the technical approach to the voice, she found a more holistic way of singing in her work with voice coach Peter Harrison. Practicing the ancient Shaolin arts at the internationally renowned Shaolin Wahnam Institute furthered this development.
Currently she works as a vocal & performance coach, using her unique skill set to open people up to their authentic voice. She teaches young people how to simply connect with their true voice and works with community choirs for ad hoc performances. She initiates music projects for theatres and site-specific locations, such as her urban opera heimwee#fermweh, an Opera which integrates classical singing, electronic music and dance.
Kirsten prepares and coaches Opera singers for main solo roles for Opera productions at a wide range of leading Opera Houses in Europe. She uses her experience in holistic voice and energy work, on a vocal, physical and emotional level to prepare each singer performing, singing and articulating each role to the highest possible level.
Next to her work for International Opera Singers, she also works regularly with non classical singers like the trance-artist “Susana”, who she prepared for a.o. the world tour of Armin van Buuren (5 times Best DJ of the World) . She works as a studio coach for recording artists and as a voice expert and adviser with well-known choreographers and theatre makers.
