Josefa Schmidt – PIANO

Josefa Schmidt (* 1998) received piano lessons from Russudan Meipariani and Stefan Romer and until 2015 she was taught as a pre-student by Prof. Florian Wiek at the Stuttgart University of Music, where she then began her Bachelor’s degree. Josefa has been studying with Prof. Roland Krüger at the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hannover since October 2018.

In 2019, Josefa won the TONALi creative prize worth 6,000 euros at the TONALi piano competition, combined with the realization of a concert in the TONALi SAAL. She also won 2nd prize at the International Euregio Piano Award, 1st prize at the Lions Club university competition, Rheingau Music Festival award at the ICMC Weikersheim with the Trio Pirveli, 1st prize at the international SIMW Award, 2nd prize at the Carl Bechstein competition in Berlin, 3rd prize at the Nuremberg Piano Competition, four 1st prizes and the Mozart Prize at the Tonkunstler competition and 1st prize at the competition of the KSK Foundation.

In 2017 she was a finalist at the international “Concours Merci, Maestro!” In Brussels. At Jugend Musiziert, Josefa received five federal prizes as a soloist and chamber musician, including In 2016 a first federal prize with the highest score in the piano trio, the special prize of the Yamaha company and the prize of the Harald Genzmer Foundation.

Josefa is a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now foundation and the Jeunesses Musicales. Her concert career has included the Rheingau Music Festival, the Sound Bridge Festival, as well as France (Paris), Austria and numerous cities in Germany. Concert recordings were broadcast several times on SWR2, Kulturradio RBB and Deutschlandradio Kultur. Her greatest interest is also in new music, so Josefa has participated in some premieres and gave concerts, among other things. with the Ensemble Suono Mobile global and worked with Nicolas Hodges, Manfred Trojahn, Micaela Haslam, William Forman and Markus Stange.
