Peaceful Choir

Elizabeth Parsons – UK/GERMANY

“In these very uncertain times, it has been never more important to spread the feeling of positivity. By applying the universal language of music, the ‘World Choir for Peace’ will give me and others a chance to do just that, and with plenty of hope we can perhaps make a difference.” (Elizabeth Parsons)

British born Soprano Elizabeth Parsons discovered her love for choral singing at the age of 11 when she sang with the Somerset County Youth Choir. Whilst studying voice under Viola Nagel and Ian Comboy at Bath Spa University, Elizabeth sang with the acclaimed chamber choir, Bath Camerata, directed by former King’s Singer, Nigel Perrin, performing as a soloist in works such as Vaughan Williams’ Mass in G minor and Wymondham Chants by Geoffrey Poole.

In 2002, Elizabeth moved to Munich, where she works as a peripatetic vocal teacher and freelance musician, including as a soprano in the Vokalkapelle of the Theatinerkirche, the Gärtnerplatz Theater choir, Chamber Choir of Europe, ClaritasVocalis (winner of the German Choir competition 2014), the Munich Philharmonic Choir and is also a member of the award-winning Munich a cappella group, bar nineteen.

She most recently worked with the Chamber Choir of Europe and composers John Rutter and Morten Lauridsen, the latter culminating in the recording of ‘Light Eternal’ – the Choral Music of Morten Lauridsen for the Deutsche Grammophon label.
